The 49-0 win over Japan and 45-14 win over Canada secured the Blitzboks a place in the Cup quarter-finals to be played on Sunday. They have qualified top of their pool in all eight tournaments before the stop in London.
The Blitzboks were out of the blocks in no time against Japan and scored seven converted tries. Four of those came in the first half, with the second, by Branco du Preez, a fitting celebration as the stalwart became the most capped Springbok Sevens player of all time, playing in his 70th tournament.
Kurt-Lee Arendse got a brace in the game, the first time he scored twice in a match for the Blitzboks.
The match against Canada was tight in the first half. Werner Kok scored early, but Canada got one back in the third minute when Mike Mullins scored a converted try. Arendse sliced though from the restart, but Canada again pulled level on the buzzer for a 14-14 halftime score.
The second half delivered some awesome play by the Blitzboks. Kok scored a second with Selvyn Davids, Siviwe Soyizwapi, JC Pretorius and Impi Visser all adding to their try scoring tally.
Argentina lost their first pool match 14-12 to Canada before beating Japan 36-7.
