With only 10 days to go until the Springboks kick off their 2025 season against the Barbarians in Cape Town, Rassie Erasmus (head coach), Felix Jones (assistant coach), and Siya Kolisi (captain) all expressed their eagerness for an exciting yet challenging international season ahead as the squad nears the completion of their second week of training in Johannesburg.

Boan Venter, a former Toyota Cheetahs prop who now plays for Edinburgh, earned his first Springbok call-up on Sunday as Bok coach Rassie Erasmus named a group of 45 players following the completion of the team’s first week of training in Johannesburg for the forthcoming international season.

Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus said on Thursday he planned to continue with the team rotation policy that delivered impressive results last season with 11 victories in 13 Test matches, as he looks to build squad depth and experience with an eye on this season and further ahead to the 2027 Rugby World Cup.
