The SA U20s will play three matches during the new SANZAAR event staged at the Sunshine Coast, north of Brisbane in Queensland on Australia’s eastern seaboard.

Monday morning's medical check-ups were followed by group gym and field sessions at the rugby field of St Davids Marist Inanda in Sandton.

Junior Bok head coach Bafana Nhleko and his coaching and conditioning staff put the players through their paces in bright Johannesburg sunshine weather.

Later in the afternoon, the squad members were handed their kit for the three-week tour, which will see them participate in matches against their counterparts from New Zealand, Australia and Argentina.

A few more training sessions are planned for Tuesday and Wednesday before departure to Australia early on Wednesday evening. They will also face the media following Tuesday's morning training session.

Upon their return from Australia on 14 May, the Junior Boks will proceed with their final preparation block for the 2024 World Rugby Under-20 Championship in June and July, which will again be staged across three venues in the Western Cape.
