SA RUGBY UNDER-21 SHIELD

Sanlam Boland were crowned champions of the SA Rugby U21 Shield after a pulsating final against the Griffons in Cerers. Nine provincial teams were divided into two sections - South comprising of Boland, Border, Eastern Province and SWD; and North, featuring the Pumas (2023 champions), Griffons, Griquas, Valke and Limpopo. Teams in the South Section played three home and three away matches (six in total) and in the North a single round (four in total). At the conclusion of the league phase, the two teams with the highest number of log points contested the semi-finals within their sections, and the two winners progressed to the final.

Satisfying weekend for SA as Vodacom URC returns with a bang

It was a largely satisfying weekend for South Africa’s teams in the Vodacom United Rugby Championship as three of the four side – the Vodacom Bulls, Hollywoodbets Sharks and DHL Stormers – came away with victories to boost their playoff hopes, while the Emirates Lions managed to secure a losing bonus point away from home to remain within striking range of the top eight.

WP book final spot in against Bulls Daisies

DHL Western Province will travel to Pretoria to take on the Bulls Daisies in the final of the Women’s Premier Division next weekend after edging the Sanlam Boland Dames 32-29 in a frantic match in Bellville on Saturday, while the defending champions closed out the final round of the competition with an emphatic 96-0 dismantling of the Free State Women in Pretoria.

Leading trio tighten grip as Valke and EP soar

The leading trio of Suzuki Griquas, Airlink Pumas and NovaVit Griffons maintained their unbeaten run with good victories in the third round of the SA Cup, while the Valke and Eastern Province were in good form as the Sanlam Boland Kavaliers and Toyota Cheetahs lost further ground on the top four.

League phase concludes with high-stakes final round

The Bulls Daisies have all but secured home ground advantage in the final of the 2025 Women’s Premier Division in Pretoria on 29 March, so most eyes will be on the Rosina Paarwater Stadium in Bellville, where the other finalist for this year’s title will be determined when the league phase concludes.
