More about the team
The South African Under-20 team, nicknamed the Junior Springboks, have been competing in the World Rugby U20 Championship since its inception in 2008, taking the title in 2012 and 2025. This Under-20 tournament replaced the previously-held Under-19 and Under-21 Rugby World Championships, both of which were won by teams from South Africa on a number of occasions in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
